    Default windows media server software?

normally i no what im doing with media streaming, i find settin that type of stuff up easy always had, but on to the problem

i have xp home on my pc and laptop

what i wanna do is set my webcam up on my laptop down stairs and send the live feed to my pc upstairs because its gotta a bigger hdd they both are wifi connected so thats no prob,
i have windows media encoder which i can use to send the video across the internet(network as well) to a wmp or to a windows media server on a remote windows 2003 server which then will allow more users to access the stream, but i dont have a spare remote server, and tbh i dont no if that type of server can record the whole stream.

    so to recap,

i wanna broadcast a webcam stream from my laptop and record it on my pc
(but not a screen capture type )

i no i can capture it on my laptop but like i said limited hdd space

any advice would be gr8 advice

    Cheers.

    Cam.

Why don't you map a network share on your laptop, from your win 2003 server. Then just specify the network share on your laptop as the source, instead of saving it to your laptops HDD.

To do this, your laptop would have to do all the work, such as encoding the video etc...

Ah, i thought you said you had win 2003! Must have misread it..

But anyway, you can still do this using XP Home! Just create a share on your 'Source' computer, then map the share on your laptop. Then just specify the network share as the destination drive.
