Password Protected .Rar files.

I just downloaded a file via Bitlord and torrents.

The file is a .rar file and it password protected to extract it.

Is there anyway I can get around this ?>

yeah, use newsgroups and get the nfo, that usually works m8.

You'l need something like this mate to bruteforce the password:

http://www.elcomsoft.com/prs.html#arpr

If it's a complex password the odds are that this will never work as you'd need to check all types of characters and it will take a long time to bruteforce everything.....

If the filename has a URL in it then you may find that it's easier to join up on the forum and see if the password is available there anywhere....

Hi mate,

The RAR file has to files in, one a readme file with "made.by[www.videocodecspot.com]" as the file name, this was not protected and the readme.txt file has nothing inside it.

The *.avi file is called "The Fast and the Furious Tokyo Drift.TELECINE.XviD-PUKKA[WWW.VIDEOCODECSPOT.COM] "

Ive tried going on the website, and the site is in a foreign language. No Hope for the 800MB file.

Ill try that program now mate, thank you

Current tried that, and the website is no good.

Just had a look at the prog whilst its working and saw this

Think you'll find that's a fake release anyway pal, not seen it on the news sites........

Couple of other releases out, a cam and a silver, that's it at the minute...

Took me near 7 hours to download, I can at least wait 30 more mins to see what heppens :-p

Ah right, thought it may be to good to be true, I left it on today for 7 hours to download. As above ill wait half hour till I can access it and then see what it actually is ive downloaded :-p

whenever i come across a torrent that is passworded i check the comments on the torrent site (mininova) this sometimes has the pass posted.

Just found out that your version was fake and removed from torrent search's

Aye Ive deleted it now because its a fake from what you guys have said, ill wait a few weeks and see if any real ones apprear.

Keep an eye out for "Hockney (TUS Release)" or "maVen by Hockney (TUS Release)" These ones are usually quite good.

that program takes much longer than an hour to properly brute force a password, i was trying to do one before i went on holiday and it was gonna take over a year to do every combo up to 11 characters on my ath xp 2500+ish
