can you still play online games after firmware is installed on backups or originals?

You can still play, but no-one is certain on the how, what or when they might start banning people.

I plan to play backups offline, but I rally hope that this wont affect me being able to play my originals online. Although the Dual Firmware mods will solve this in the future...
