    Default Changing spellchecker

    2nd post here guys.

    How do I change my spell checker in word so it permanently stays at the uk setting? I have to change mine from the US setting every time I use it and it's very annoying.

    Sounds to me like the Regional Settings in Windows are all to cock.

    Control Panel > Regional & Language Options....check the folowing for a TRUE UK setup

    Regional Options Tab
    Standards & Formats = English (United Kingdom)
    Location = United Kingdom

    Languages Tab
    Click Details
    Default Input Language = English (United Kingdom)
    Highlight everything else and remove it

    Advanced Tab
    Language for non unicode programs = English (United Kingdom)

    The above is the PROPER way to set Windows NT (inc 2000 & XP) up for British use, but a hell of a lot of people seem to struggle to grasp this concept.
    Understeer is when you hit a wall with the front of your car
    Oversteer is when you hit the wall with the back of your car
    Horsepower is how fast your car hits the wall
    Torque is how far your car sends the wall across the field once you've hit it
