i know they are more expensive but miele are meant 2 be the dogs. they are engineered to last 25 years at 5 washes a week. most of the others go pear shaped after about 3 years.

I know your looking for a cheap one m8 but avoid Candy like the plague! Their cheap for one reason it's because they are crap. I personally swear by Zanussi or Ariston.

I've got a cracking website but it's on my fav folder at work. If you still haven't got any links then I'll dig it out tomorrow for you.

    Oops found some of them
    h**p://www.pricerunner.co.uk/home-appliances/washingmachines/browse?sort=3&price_max=250

    h**p://householdappliances.kelkoo.co.uk/ctl/do/drilldown~146601/Washing_machine-~sb-altPrice+

    h**p://www.clearance-comet.co.uk/?

You may be able to fix your existing one with this site http://www.washerhelp.co.uk/

We have the one below this one (860)

    http://www.empiredirect.co.uk/conten...e~Hotpoint.htm
Had no probs with it so far, also we had a high end zanussi (£400) and it didnt last 2 years. Avoid Indeset aswell as we had to send 2 of those back as they didnt work when they arrived

I was after a machine recently and found a site (can't find the link -must be on my work machine) run by a washing machine repair man.
He reckons for the money zanussi take some beating, since they are made at the same factory as AEG.

    all good solid german makes.

From experience living in germany Id say meile are the most robust.

i know people whove had the same machines for 30 years.

meile are the tonka of washing machines.

That guy said so much, but for the money he reckoned zanussi. Miele are quite expensive, but built like brick shithouses - if I recall, theye are the only ones with a steel outer drum (most are plastic)

well if it goes back after a week you know it's failed the mrs' spin cycle test

just get a dish washer and jam your clothes in that... i mean you can wash your clothes in the sink like the pots... why not a dish washer?

My late mum had an AEG, it was whisper quite even on full spin and never had any trouble with it, cost her about £500 mind you.
