having been made redundant recently (but I got another job anyway), I finally got some pay slips, P45 and P60 form my employer, the first in the 2 years I worked there despite constant requests for them! , turned out they sent them to an old address of mine even though I had informed them of my new address. (shows how organised this place was)
anyway, I've noticed that my national insurance number was wrong on the pay slips and on the P45 its marked as Not Known despite them definitely knowing it as they received my P45 when I started with them and I had emailed the company HR person when I started with all my details and when they changed.
what impact does this have, I know it affects benefits but I havent claimed them anyway so no big deal there.
should I contact the old employer to get them to sort it or contact someone official elsewhere, I dont want to contact the old employer as they will more than likely do nothing about it or it will take months and months of me contacting them constantly to get anything done.
