Simon, there is a script in Photshop called "photomerge" which I have used before to create a massive (48"x6") panorama of the NY skyline before or i have also used a prog from Arc Soft call Panoramic (Or something similar), it was ok, but not as good as the one in PS CS2. There is either a manual mode where you line them up yourself or you can let PS do it for you and pray it gets it right.

    NY Skyline October 2005 (Warning wide file - 4036x610 - 925 K)
    Spoiler:

    Hope that helps

Cheers Simon, it's not the one I used though as you can see some slight distortion in one area, i will dig out the proper version and put it up online laters..

I had a look for the script in PS you mention but can't find it anywhere.
I think the Panorama Factory app has to have the images exactly spot on to join them properly, either that or fine tweaking, I'll have a play some time.

    In Photoshop go to File>Automate>Photomerge...

I use the semi-automatic stitching method in Panorama Factory. You can then set your own alignment points and it works much better.

Have always found Panorama factory miles easier to use than the photoshop method, has always produced better results for me....

I'm not usually a fan of fully automatic modes as they tend to do rather a poor job and I prefer to have a bit of manual input but I've just been playing with another bit of software called Autopano Pro and it was excellent. The results were better than what I could achieve with semi-auto mode in Panorama Factory. Worth a look.
