Forum - hope this is moved in the right section

Not really after a critique, just want you all to have a look. I am releasing an online magazine for students in my area and this will be the forum. Only made it last night and its not finished yet but just after first thoughts and suggestions.

Used some influences from here and built on them, am hoping I will get a good response from 16-18 year olds and some from below and above.

Also a few things I want to add and don't know how. Firstly how can I access my roots and upload :s don't know how to add games to my arcade directory.

And how can I get the page after you post to auto-return to the message like on here and most other forums?

Looks fine mate. Get a "comedy section" on there too (or make the "free for all" more obvious that it's for jokey stuff).

I'd change the background colour to a light colour.

I had it as black as it best goes with the colour scheme of the logos I designed and the to be released online magazine. Do you think it would bebetter for the forums colour scheme to flow with the logo and magazine template or to e different and light?

I did try 2 light colours before I installed that one.

I agree.. it would be better if the 2 alternate skins could be implemented.

Having said that, it's targeted at 16-18 y/o teens and they've better eyesight than us 31 y/o's

Lol, what I want to do is force the black skin but have a drop down box somewhere (I have seen them at the bottom of pages before) where users may choose a skin.

I'm not sure if it is just the hosting I'm using (its free) that doesn't allow me to do much or if I just don't know how.

I would appreciate it if someone can talk me through implementing the above, how to add arcade games, and how to have my arcade show! Also I am having problems with permissions e.g. for a VIP board and S mods/mods.

For the different skins, in the admin panel;

Under 'Styles Admin' click 'create'

change all the settings so it will show how you want.

Then again under 'styles admin' click 'add' and select the skin you just created.

Users can now select the skin they want in their userCP.

Ahhh, I see, well I already have 3 enabled so will just let users know, K+

To make the arcade show, in admin panel, under arcade, click 'switches' then change 'take mod offline' to no.

To add a load more games, under arcade, click 'import' then click the submit button at the bottom. You then need to manually turn on each game by clicking 'edit' under arcade, click 'edit' on the right of a game and change 'game is available' to yes, then click 'submit' at the bottom.

Cheers for that mate, but how do I get the games in the directory to import? I thought it would be done via FTP or similar but I haven't been sent any details and am unsure if the site allows it :s I will read their main pages to see

You mean add games that they don't already have? you can't because it uses the same games folder for all the forums it hosts.

Just so you know I'm not a complete loner, the forum won't be launched until mid-summer/September. The few members are peeps I know in the college who are doing the 'common' testing Then all 'pros' comments from here are what is helping me with more advanced features.
