    Default More Samsung Probs!!

    Hi,
I have a VIA6421L PCI SATA/RAID controller. But windows ONLY recognises it as a RAID controller!

I am trying to use MTKFLASHvia, but every time I type the command "mtkflash r/m orig.bin" I get the message "No Drive Detected"!!

Can some-one please help! This is driving me up the wall!

The info Window gives for my PCI SATA card is as follows:

    • Name: VIA VT6421 RAID Controller
      Manufacturer: VIA Technologies Inc
      Status: OK
      PNP Device ID: PCI\VEN_1106&DEV_3249&SUBSYS_32491106&REV_50\2&EBB567F&0&48
      I/O Port: 0x0000DC00-0x0000DC0F
      I/O Port: 0x0000D800-0x0000D80F
      I/O Port: 0x0000D400-0x0000D40F
      I/O Port: 0x0000D000-0x0000D00F
      I/O Port: 0x0000CC00-0x0000CC1F
      I/O Port: 0x0000C800-0x0000C8FF
      IRQ Channel: IRQ 5
      Driver: c:\windows\system32\drivers\viamraid.sys (5.1.2600.410, 59.25 KB (60,672 bytes), 04/07...

If any1 could hex edit MTKFLASH for me, or tell me what I'm doing wrong that would be great!

    Cheers!

I noticed you mentioned windows, you are trying to flash through DOS right? (and not just a command prompt, but real dos).

    Also the command "r/m" should have a space I believe "r /m".

ah right! didn't know it had a space between "r" and "/" and yes, I am using real DOS, booting up from a floppy!

Have hacked the drive, and have tested several originals (XBOX and XBOX 360) and backups (XBOX 360), and all seems to be perfectly fine!

Cheers again guys! Esp TAR for the hex edited MTKFLASH!

I have the same problem with my VIA chipset. It says "No Drive detected". Also edited mtkflash, but without result.

ok with certain motherboards on the via 8237 (hopefully the right numbers) you need to plug the sata cable in to sata 2 (raid 1) or sata IV (raid 2), this is what I had to do with my k8se deluxe, spent a week before i figured that out.
