The Skills Train course is good for those who need guidance and like some structure to their study rather than going it alone. Let's face it, if you are earning around 30K after completing your CCNP the benefits outway the costs. Especially, like me you are only earning around half that.

I'd recommend it - I'm doing the A+, N+, CCNA, and then CNNP for 2.5K.

For those who are unemployed you should be able to get a study grant/loan - if not then become an activist till you can (!?!). Better than going to Uni and having to pay for digs and course fees too.
