As a direct result of overuse of network bandwidth resources (your utilisation total for the period between 25.06.06 and 02.07.06 is 109 Gb) we have taken the decision to send you a formal request to immediately reduce the usage of your ADSL connection to less than 25GB per week.

As your overuse is having a detrimental effect on other customers we are entitled under our terms and conditions (www.freedom2surf.net/adsl/terms) to immediately terminate your service, please see the relevant extract below:-

16.7 Other events
We shall be entitled to terminate the Agreement without the need to give any notice in writing to you upon the occurrence of any one or more of the following events:

Before you issue me with any warning get the bandwith metre fixed in the members area panel.

Its been broken for weeks and you have made no attempt whatsover to fix it .

None yet recorded. Updated daily every morning.

Thats whats showing and has ben for weeks now so Your failure to to provide this service or fix it has
lead to my alledged high usage.

I expect a rapid response to this message including why you choose to issue me with a warning when
clearly the fault lays by you. your compliance of this request is also expected within 7 days along with an apollogy .

I called them up, as I knew Yerkov was on the same ISP and far worse abuser than myself, and he didn't receive any threats. So I called them and asked WTF?!? and that there were no restrictions in the contract, as this was cablemodem with a max downstream of one meg. They apologized and said the letter must have been sent to the wrong apt. Yeah right, it had my name on it. They let me and my porn be then.

Since Pipex have took over they have ruined F2S!

I've got about 4 tickets open with them at the moment with No replies! The phone staff either dont exist or are shit! and they had the cheek to send me a news letter today saying that these so called 'Free Broadband' companies are crap. For fucks sake I wouldn't even pay for this service! Orange or Talk Talk customers must be laughing!

the uk broadband market is currently FUCKED. and tbh im worried what will happen when pipex (and other big ISP's) start doing mass roll outs of 8meg etc.

8 meg has actually done more harm than good as far as i see it.. since its introduction, loads of ISP's have done away with the "uncapped" nature of 2meg because on 8meg people can download so much more in the same time frames... which is utter crap.. thats exactly why people want faster connections.. to download more (or just the same), but quicker. but the ISP's simply cant sustain that kind of usage so now u can have 8 meg with any number of "features" to slow down just how much shit you can grab.

how are they going to cope when a few years down the road people actually NEED 8 meg speeds and usage to download their telly programs, watch video on demand or make phone calls etc.. bt need to remove a finger from their ass and decrease the price of bandwidth for the ISP's otherwise its just gonna get worse as more people start to eat more bandwidth.

Marcode you are right, the UK broadband system is fucked!

I remember watching the gadget show a few months ago and jason bradbury went to some far easy country where they had 100mb broadband as standard, and you could grab a wifi connection (free) on nearly every street corner.

BT need to get off their arses and start looking to at introducing some kind of future broadband ie : fast underground fibre optic cable (just dedicated to computer data)
It's really stupid to think that data is pushed down 40 year old telephone exchanges and ageing telegraph poles, the UK needs a "dedicated" digital data line for household consumers (and I'm not talking about cable or nthell shite)

The UK broadband market is now becoming fast at rolling out bullshit advertisements for ultra fast internet broadband, but whats the point off having something like 8mb speeds when your capped to say 50gb a month, it's like buying a Porsche and not going over 30mph in it.

What new technology is on the horizon? anyone know
