as far as i know these fones can't be unlocked unless u fone the service provider of course.

Is the handset still on contract m8 ??

I think you will have t get your brother to do it for you too as he is/was the contract holder.

keep harassing 3 - eventually you'll get the code from them - just keep ringing over and over again, eventually you'll get someone who can help.

Failing that - i got my code within 10 days after compaining to Ofcom - BUT before you go to Ofcom you have to have followed 3's complaint procedure to the letter before Ofcom will help - took me over 6 months before I was able to go to Ofcom, but it worked eventually just be persistent.

Don't let them fob you off, the call centre in Mumbai has the facility to generate the unlock codes now.

it took me 20 days to get the code from vodafone

they said they had to send details to nokia and wait for them
to send the unlock code back, so i presume it would be the same process for 3
(unless voda are lying gets, which is also a possibility)

i phoned 3g im on contract theyy said 15quid any ideas how i get for free or do i have to wait for contract to end

I had the exact same response from voda, But there was no charge so all good in the end
