I've got 4Mbps for £24.99 p.m.from NTHELL which I think is steep. I phoned them up to say I'm thinking of jumping ship. They offered me 2Mbps at £9.99 but only for 6 months. Or my current service half price for 3 months. I took their second offer.

They also said that if call when the 3 months is up they may renew the offer !

I think that what you get offered depends which way the wind is blowing at the time.

I think if you already have other packages from them i.e. TV or phone you are in a better position to get a good deal. They are hot on you having their phone line in my opinion. If you transfer you BT line they will give cheap broadband. I am not sure of the logic but they are banking on each one of us to subscribe to all three services. £40 each/month might be their target for the wall street.

I am with NTLHELL and the best I could get was my £24.99 4mb service reduced to £19.99 for 6 months.

NTHell just doubled my speed free of charge this week, but after reading all the success on here I might just give them a ring and see what else they can do.

    Thanks for the heads up.

Just looked on my statement and I'd been charged £34.99 this month for my 10mb! So I phoned them up and they said it is because the offer was only put on my account for 3 months. I said that I was told it was unlimited, so the guy agreed to put it back on my account for a further 3 months and in the mean time he would check with the person who originally dealt with it to confirm it was unlimited. Also said he would credit the extra charge to my account.

Might be worth taking a look at your statement if you pay by DD!

The same has happened to me, the guy said that the system will only allow him to reduce the amount by 3 months at a time. But he also said the reason for this was because *** are reviewing the prices and packages and to expect "new and exciting" packages in the new year.
