Cars Should I get my cars paintwork repaired before I sell?

I'm looking for a bit of advice guys, I need to sell my car (Ford Focus 04, 25000 miles on the clock) since I'm getting a company car. Last year someone skimmed the passenger side in Tescos car park and drove off without leaving their details (I've now gotten over the kill them, kill them all phase!!). I never got it fixed at the time but now I'm selling the car I'm wondering whether it's worth getting it fixed before I sell it or just taking a hit on the price. Also, (Oh, the timing is just perfect!!) I noticed that there is a patch of the paintwork missing from the front bumper area. I've attached some pictures of the two areas.

Is it worth getting these areas fixed and how much will it cost (approx) or should I just take the hit.

    Grateful for any thoughts.

How about a positive LSD story? Would you like to see a positive LSD story on the news to hear what's it all about, perhaps? Wouldn't that be interesting just once?

Decent job, you won't have a lot of change out of 500 sobs.
    Back street whammy 200 sobs.
On valuing, it depends on how the buyer sees the car, some won't give a fig about the damage and some will whine.
Someone might come and knock 300 sobs off the price because of the damage, when you were prepared to pay 500 sobs to get it sorted properly, 200 sobs in front ;p.
Obviously the damage knocks the price, but only by the cost it would take to put it right if ya get me.

Personally I'd price it the same as any other one, mention the slight scrape etc on the phone when they ring.
Focus are good sellers on the 2nd hand market and you shouldn't have any problems selling it imo.

I'll start the bidding off at 2000 sobs.

I can't tell whether that is your paint scratched down to primer or paint come off another car. Get some t-cut if it is paint from another car, as this will remove it.

yep t cut the bottom end between the 2 doors
the chip near the front numberplate will cost around 60-70 quid to repair with a mobile SMART repairer, and if the marks will not come off the doors you would be looking at around 80 quid to put right. thats what we charge
hope this helps! its worth getting it repaired as the dealer will knock 500+ off the price and get us in to do it for peanuts

try to get a machine polish, that would work if the scratches arent too deep, would set you back around 120 ish
