Police Application Form

Hi, I have for many years (well 4) been extremely interested in joining the police and would go as far as to say that there is nothing else that I would rather do career-wise.

Finally pulled my finger out and have today received an application form aka the Encyclopedia Britannica, and was wondering if anyone here was a police officer and/or has filled in one of these forms and has any advice or pointers with regards making an impression.

I always thought "twoplanks" sounded quite well educated.

It's not the qualifications bit. I have plenty of those. Its where they ask you all the scenario questions. Im scared of putting the wrong thing

We support some police contracts where I work and the application forms for Police Clearance are insane! I've been filling my form in for the last few days (I kid you not).

I think the best question was "Have you ever been convicted of a crime in the UK?"

U know what, I completely forgot that I started this thread. I sent the form off a week ago after completely blagging the questions. I gave some corking answers...some of them were even true

How did you find all the equal opportuinities sections? I've seen those forms before and they seem like a real pain in the arse. Scoring based on equality and if you are not 'equal' enough you don't seem to stand a chance

Hiya, sorry I never see this thread until now. I have sent off my second application about 2 months ago, and got B's all the way through it, which to them "Meets the required standard".

I have now got my assesment centre date on the 18th of this month. And I am now shitting myself. I have been once before for the full time police in Thames Valley, but this time I have gone for PCSO in the met. I have got to do a 30min interview, well I say interview, but its just a women who sits there with a clip board, and says "Think of a time when you shown respect for race and diversity, even when you do not agree with the situation"......right. You get 5 mins to answer the question, and she just sits there. Bitch. All together think that lasts about 20-30mins. Then you got the role plays, when you read about a situation and have to interact with the people.
Not to mention about the written and numerical tests, oh! and the letter writing thing aswell. Quite a fun day.

Have been trying to find a guide (for free) on the assessment centre and what to say and not what to say, anyone ever seen these floating around on the t'internet?
