    Whine Rabbits

    Stupid animals

Im looking after 3 of the buggers while the old mans away and one of em thinks its clever to chuck their food all over their cage. We'll previosly we screwed her bowl down so she couldnt do that anymore. I go up their today to find shes ripped her bowl off the screwand flung it around her cage. So now the bowls loose, I give her a little bit more of food bevause im an idiots and she flings that around to. Because I dont want her to starve I give her a little plastic bowl and put some food in that.

I leave her for 5 mins and low and behold ... shes done the exact same thing. So I look at one of the other rabbits bowls whose is a bit thicker and decide to try and swap them over. I do thatbut of coarse the other rabbit decides to fling the bowl around aswell.

To add insult to this I pick up the other rabbit to sort out his cage and in the process he scratchs my face causing not one but two ugly scrathes

Free the rabbits....put them out in the garden and let them graze and hop freely as nature intended. Obviously if a cat or fox gets them you're fcuked.. but then again thats nature for you.

Maybe they don't like their grub..?

Sod the bowls - just shove some carrots and lettuce in there. If they shun that lot then do what GTI said and let them try to survive on their own ;-)

Sounds like they're not happy. Do they have plenty of space to run about? If they're kept locked up in a cage without any chance to get some exercise then they're gonna get the arse.

    2kg (4lb) Rabbit, jointed
    285ml (½ pint) Chicken Stock
    140ml (¼ pint) White Wine
    2 tbsp Seasoned Flour
    55g (2oz) Butter
    1 Garlic Clove
    1 Bouquet Garni
    2 tbsp Double Cream
    1 tbsp Parsley
    2 tsp Cornflour
    2 tsp Tomato Purée
    Parsley
    Salt and Pepper

Coat the rabbit joints in seasoned flour and fry in butter in a flameproof casserole, browning on all sides.
Add the stock, wine and tomato purée, bring to the boil.
Add the bouquet garni, crushed garlic and season to taste.
Reduce the heat and cook gently for 1½ - 2 hours or until the rabbit is tender.
Transfer the rabbit to a serving dish, keep warm.
Transfer the sauce to a saucepan, removing the bouquet garni
Mix the cream and cornflour together, and stir into the sauce until thickened.
Pour sauce over rabbit and garnish with parsley.

    Hey presto....Rabbit Stew !

Problem solved and a tasty meal too !

Yea they've got a rather large pen to run around in which they go in every other day.

Oh well, some rabbits are just like that, bad luck! I'm sure they appreciate your help in their own way though. At least you don't have to deal with it permanently.

Too noisy and does too much damage to the meat. Air Rifle or better still a .22" rimfire with sound moderator silent, deadly and no damage to the meat (depending on how good a shot you are or how close you can get before shooting)
