Default Best act you've seen live?

Well I always getl ike this after seeing someone I really enjoyed, just got back from weekend camping at V2006 and it was awesome!

My pick of V in order, best first:

Faithless (Was in the middle 10 rows from the front!!! Was a proper rave!)
    Fatboy Slim
Razorlight (Woman ran on stage to the mic and was swiftly floored hard by security )
    Hard-Fi

There were loads of other fantastic bands but they were the best.

My favourites of all time are, in same order:

Prodigy (Final gig of their best of tour)
Faithless (Just as good as prodigy)
    Foo Fighters

So come on peeps, tell me where you have been and who you have loved. Had any let downs at a gig?

my first ever gig is still my best - the foos for 'the colour and the shape' tour

at the astoria in london, front row center - absolutely amazing

others that have really impressed me in no particular order:
    Lenny Kravitz
    Aerosmith
    Franz Ferdinand
    The Rapture
I am a loud man with a very large hat. This means I am in charge

I've been to a fair few gigs and festivals but the best I've seen was probably Prodidy when they supported Oasis at Knebworth about 10 years ago. Although Oasis were good that day Prodigy were better, possibly cos I didnt know what to expect from them. Prodigy are playing Creamfields on Saturday so I'm hoping they will be just as good!

Other gigs which stand out for me....in no particular order:
Oasis, Fatboy Slim, Faithless, Polyphonic Spree, The Who, Paul McCartney.

Edit: Honourable mentions to: Doves, Ocean Colour Scene and The Zutons

I went to see Take That last month at Cardiff with my lady and her sister....and it was effing brill.....i dont care what you guys say

THey did this beatles medley which was v good, then there was this hologram thing of Robbie (which he recorded especially for the concert) but the best bit for me was when that little minx Lulu came out on the stage

Nice to see a lot participating in this thread.

I'm seeing Muse in november so am glad someone gave them a mention.

Just to add to my original list I loved Feeder, reel Big Fish were fun, Ordinary Boys are brilliant (I had been put off them previously due to so many jumping on the bandwagon after the Big brother), Orson weren't too good, The feeling and Editors were good.

The heaviest set I've seen is probaly CKY at astoria, was in some fucked up mosh pit with peeps throwing punches so I crowdsurfed out Wasn't a particularly good set though.

Pink Floyd on 8/8/88 at Maine Road were fucking awesome and this would probably rate as the best gig of my life. May have had something to do with them damn microdots though. Portishead at Blackburn a few years back were excellent live as well. NWA in Manchester in 89 were fucking excellent as well. Saw New Model Army and the Wonderstuff a million times and they were consistently as you would expect them to be.

Recent favourite was Ian Brown at Manchester, great production if not much of a stage show.

I have to say Michael Jackson

The best tour was the 92 dangerous tour imho - however bad tour 88 at aintree was pretty sweet. History tour was ok but not as good as dangerous tour. I went to 26 concerts in total lol

ive seen god knows how many other acts - best concert day ever for me was live8 - the backstage passes didnt hurt either

Prodigy proper have it mate, I went to what is supposed to have been their best gig ever, the closing venue of the best of tour in Keiths hometown Braintree. Loved it and was buzzin til 5 in the morning! Might have been helped along by other things...

Saw a bit of Kasabian on Saturday but they played during Fatboy Slim so couldn't watch them all, from what I saw they were awesome.

    That's a great eclectic mix.

For me Orbital have probably been the best live show I've seen. The Prodigy fall into the same kind of live category whom I've seen two or three times as well but they don't hold a candle to the Hartnolls.

Musically maybe the most accomplished musicians I've seen tied with the best sound was Mercury Rev in Melbourne.

I'm so happy to have been able to catch The Stone Roses live as well. I'll never convince anyone that they were a consistently great live group but on that one occasion I saw them in Newport in maybe 94 or 95 they were fucking ace and the riot outside between Newport and Cardiff fans inspired by Ian Brown ripping his shirt off half way through Tears and showing off a Bluebirds shirt underneath really capped off the evening especially as the microdots I'd necked were still in full swing.
