I had the beta for this awhile ago and the only major change you notice is the info window for torrents

    is utorrent any good yet?

eg, didnt let you specify a custom referrer

I have no idea what you're on about, as I care not for RSS. But the uttorent guide to RSS can be found here http://www.utorrent.com/rsstutorial.php

If what you're looking for is not there, I guess for you, it's still shite.

I'll keep on using it though. Az and Java rape my CPU.

Aye, when I was using Azureus it just to bloat up like a fucker and slow my machine down. I then could only really download at night or when I was out as it would almost make the computer un-usable.

uTorrent has been great, it does get a bit lively sometimes and use alot of memory and can slow my machine down. I don't really download much anymore so sometimes its just grabbing one torrent and its sweet as.

RSS? Im not into it that much, im more of a "Ooooh, that looks good" and i download it when I see it.

uTorrent has a tiny footprint, so (well for me) it dont chomp all your memory and I did get some serious issues with the PC slowing down.

Its just a different client, you could go into detail about all the extras etc..
I get the same speeds as I did with Azereus and as long as it downloads what your after, who really gives a shit? not me!

Nice to know Azereus has an update though

    azureus uses java.

if you dont use rss feeds for automated downloads needing custom referrers, like myself, and just use it to dl individual torrent files, definately give utorrent a try..

much smaller, smaller memory footprint.. not so heavy on resources etc.. (partly due to it not using java)

its also preference.. tbh i love how configurable azureus is and i use several of their plugins for functionality that utorrent just doesnt provide yet. plus i run azureus 24/7 and dont really have many resource problems with it.. i restart it once a week or so to kill the memory hogging and its fine.

it''s all about how java runs on your system plus how many features you want, if you have a older pc the majority of them all hang pretty hard when azureus is running, utorrent is small but theres a reason in that as azureus has pretty much every plugin or function you could possibly dream of.

marcode what rss sites check the referrer? surely that pretty much does away with the whole point of rss feeds if they don't allow external sources to read them

well no, i use eztv's mirc script that creates a feed on your own pc, but they post their files on mininova, which wont let you download the files unless your referrer is mininova..
