in all seriousness i would not bother trying to make doughnuts at home. you just can't improve on flavour or price of the commercial stuff.

I've not tried using one myself but there was a doughnut maker posted in Biggy7's a few days back.

725g flour
70g sugar
25g baking powder
1 packet vanilla sugar (about 1 TBS or a few drops of vanilla essence)
500g water
Mix all ingredients at room temperature.
Dough should not be too liquid, but tear off the mixing spoon easily.
If necessary, add some more water or flour.
You can use plain sugar if you like
Me and my fella spit our dummies out so we won't be coming back. ever. boo hoo.
This is a techy / hackers forum not a fu**ing mothers meeting so - peace out.
Here's a simple recipe I use and they taste great....
1. Get 2 slices of bread and remove the crust
2. Cut them diagonally to make 2 triangles from each slice
3. Put a dollop of jam in the centre of 2 slices and put another slice on top, so you will hve jam sanwiches, make sure that the james doesn't come to the edge tho.
4. In a bowl mix some flower and water to make a better - the consistency is up to you.
5. Dip the jam sanwiches in the batter and deep fry turnig during cooking.
6. Leave to cool and sprinkle with sugar.
Sorry Lin, I just dont see how that recipe improves on commercially availible doughnuts.
tbh i'd rather use Azphyxi8's recipe
