They also don't take into consideration bone mass and body fat ratio (especially visceral fat - fat that's around the abdomen/organs and the most dangerous).

You can weigh 9 stone, but your body fat ratio, LDL chloesterol levels and general health could be far worse than someone of 15 stone.

I am 9st 8lbs and 5ft 10 but because i'm 'big boned' all i see is skinny shoulders, spine and ribs.
I have more aches and pains in my back, legs and arms now than i did when i was 11 1/2 - 12 stone.
