Games wont boot after playing dead rising..

Weird problem here..got a sammy drive, version 2.0 firmware, all games booted fine..I play dead rising..boots fine..i try and boot any other disk and the drive just says "open tray" after reading, but dead rising still boots fine. Anyone know why? lol

should I upgrade firmware? ive tried some of the soft reset work around etc but still no joy..

I updated my firmware last night and the difference in speed of loading was greatly increased. Open tray errors are non existent now aswell. You might aswell upgrade your firmware.

Ill give it a whirl later and see if it fixes it...just thought it was a bit odd that only that game will boot now and nothing else lol all worked fine before

Ok even weirder...just left the 360 off for 10 mins and tried and now the other games are working lol deffo gonna update firmware later!

Dead Rising has caused a lot of probs on NTSC machines. Apparently you have to format your hdd to resolve them but I would of thought that the issues have been resolved for the PAL edition.

Ya never know though.

Earlier in the thread someone mentioned Dead Rising not working as a result of the stealth 3.0 patch. That is incorrect info that was a result of rumors. The truth is that there is a bug in Dead Rising that sometimes causes your cache to be corrupted. When this happens you have a few options:
1) reset your cache using a key sequence (something like system -> memory -> y, x, x, lb, rb, x,)
2)if that doesn't work you can remove your hd and it will play fine only you will have to save to a memory card
3) If that doesn't work for you - format your hard drive and the game will be ok again.

Clearly this is an issue with capcom but no one is accepting responsibility on this so it will be some time (if ever) before a fix is released.

Yeah I had the same problem, running V3.0 firmware on a samsung drive. Playing Saints row, took it out and put in dead rising and got the open drive message. Switched the box off, waited a minute and put it back on and dead rising booted. When I stopped playing it and put saints back in it did the same thing. Probably update to 3.2 when I get a chance.
