Default Safe methods to gently increase weight\body mass

I recently went through an uncomfortable episode where I suffered from anemia, blood loss and other uncomfortable symptoms. It sorted itself out around Feb and i've been slowly getting back to normal. However I lost some weight and am now about a stone underweight. I eat fairly normally, 3 times a day, but I just cant seem to get the weight back on. Nothing fits me anymore! There are loads of bizare and crazy diets out there, mainly aimed at body builders. Anyone recomend a course of action?

This all depends if you want to get fit and put on muscle mass or be unhealthy, eat junk, don't excercise and put on body fat.

If you want to go for the more advisable, former approach and live to reap the benefits of a healthy, active lifestyle then you need to employ a good diet combined with a weight training programme. One of the hardest achievements in the gym is to become "big" in a short amount of time. To actually gain major muscle mass without the use of drugs/steroids etc is very difficult indeed.

Can you access a gym or a good set of free weights?

I'm not interested in being muscly or bulking up, i just want to put the stone back on and my clothes to fit me.

I eat very healthily and am against almost all take-away type foods.

I go to the gym and work a gentle cardiovascular workout\programme. This is for my back which is still not as strong as it should be.

I don't understand what you want to achieve then? What will the stone in weight be if not muscle?

Sounds like you don't need to do anything at all. If you eat a healthy balanced diet and your fuel intake means you have enough energy throughout the day then you're ok. You're body will tell you if it needs more fuel.

You may want to increase the intensity of your cardiovascular workout and add some strength training too, not to bulk up as such but to tone your body which will increase muscle mass in the right areas.

I wouldn't be tempted to try any drastic weight gain diets, as gaining or losing weight rapidly puts a strain on the vital organs, especially the heart, kidneys and liver.
