    Default Newshosting....multiple connections

Using newsbin pro with newshosting and I've got it set to user 30 connections and it's working fine. I thought they only allowed up to 8 connections or am I misunderstanding something?

they don't have a hard limit, althoughthey might contact you if they notice it, personally I don't find any improvement over 8 connections, but if you're traffic shaped the more connections will help with maxing out your connection.

I can see this thread turning into many others about news providers. Newshosting are a damn good soluton for a reasonably low cost there service is bob on and I never fail to max out my available bandwidth using 2 connections on port 3128 and two on each of 7000, 8000 and 9000 so effectively eight connections.

how do you use multiple ports? Just setup multiple server entries with the same ip's but diff ports?

That is exactly how I do it in Newsleecher. 4 servers in the list but each using a different port.

the problem i have with newshosting is that the .nbz files are a much better way to download instead of downloading headers. When i try to join newzbin.com they say that they have reached the limit on the number of users that can join and as there no other real good .nbz service i have to keep downloading the headers which is really time consuming.

I would say nzbmatrix.com is about the best indexing service if you cannot register on Newzbin and it is free but I think you have to sign up to be able to get the nzb files. Check it out.

I thought they had lifted the ban on new users on Newzbin now anyway?

I find that I can max my 10mb connection with just 10 connections to newshosting with newsleecher, not sure why you would need 30......

You may find using that number, they may periodically block your access to the servers until you decrease the number of connections.
