If you're on a 1Mb line then you're getting the correct speed.

It's possible that your speed was reduced because you were also uploading or downloading something at the same time, however it's far more likely that you are actually on a 1Mb line rather than 4. Time to have a word with your provider.

well i downgraded to save some dosh and cant say for that I have noticed a mega drop in speed but me bank balance is lookin gmore healthy. I only paying for 2 meg btw

I'm on Tiscali 2MB unlimited at the moment (upgrading to 8MB). Really slow during peak hour (6pm-11pm). I mean really slow, couple of kb a second!

do you mean it syncs at 2mbit?

8Mbit/sec has a theoretical download speed of 1MB per second .....
