    Default Lacquer removal

    Hi there

Would anyone be able to recommend the best solvent for the annoying lacquer that manufactures seem to be coating boards in these days.

    Many thanks

Use a small flatbladed watchmakers screwdriver. Heat the end using hot air and shave the wax away. You can get to all the solder points and vias this way. When you have removed the sealant use a fibreglass brush to buff up the contacts until they are clean. A small amount of solder cream onto the ends of your wires, touch to the solder point and apply heat with your iron. Perfect, no mess and would take around 30 mins with no rushing.
