what is your make and model of your router?
Talktalk will not offer support for routers unless you purchase one of their own, like most isp's!
thanks
hi m8 sorry been away for a day its a belkin the router is working fine it when i go wireless i get the problem as i want to get rid of the pc and use my lappy but cant seem to send emails via laptop it says doesnt support even when i put the software from talktalk on my lappy it wont open
What about if you note down the mac address from the talktalk modem and then enter that into the belkin router. Should be possible to disable the belkin router's original mac and use the cloned mac from the talktalk supplied modem. Will that get it to work?
Hmm, I've got a 3COM router with TalkTalk, I dont' have any problems with it. But I would have to look into the settings on how I got it to work.
Was pretty straight forward if memory serves right, you need to put all settings into the router and that was it. The only thing I'm not sure of, is when you already got one PC connected if it let you connect a second one with the same settings, I know this was a major headache for some guy at my workplace with AOL.
My e-mail settings are as follows:
Display Name: - The name you want to display when you send e-mails
E-mail address: - yourname(at)talktalk.net
Username: - yourname(at)talktalk.net
Password: - your Talktalk login password
Mailserver: - mail.talktalk.net
Mailserver: - smtp.talktalk.net
Further settings:
leave authentication un-ticked
tick Connection via LAN
POP3 is 110 and SMTP is 25
I hope this will help if you didn't have these settigs already. Also check your (and the routers) firewall settings, maybe you got a glitch there.
May also try to get into the TalkTalk webmailer if it is really urgent.
Greetings :)
Hogwart
