I'd spend a while getting used to the camera before bothering with anything else, you don't need extra filters etc to get good shots.
If you do want to buy something though, a decent tripod is probably the most useful accessory.
ye ive got that camera.had it about 12 months.ive came first in 2 photo comps on this forum and posted a lot of pictures here too,im now looking at upgrading to true slr digital.but still a great camera to start with.as slarti said dont worry about filters and stuff.but a good tripod is assential mate.i take my camera everywhere and snap at anything when i get chance.and i have had some goot portrate shots of my kids from it too.so enjoy

This is £112.49 (was £279.99) at Argos at the moment!
360 ID: Symate
nice price..... was looking at it on amazon and thought that was good... at £139 but thats a fantastic price for a good camera then....
Set the camera to shutter priority mode ("S") and choose a longer shutter speed like 2/3 seconds, then sit it on tripod/wall or anything stable and take the shot. I found the night mode on the camera chooses a reasonable shutter length aswell for these type of shots at night. With the shutter priority mode you have more control over the exposure length though. Let me know if you still have any questions, or if i just confused you lol i'll write you a quick quide through all the button presses tomorrow, gotta get to bed now. It's easy though, you'll have one of those type of shots in no time.
Total steal at that price! i paid around £200 for it last Christmas. *goes off to look at current DSLR prices*

Okay here goes, it's pretty simple.
Turn the dial to "S"
Push the up arrow and you'll see the shutter time in the bottom left getting lower, when it gets to 1, thats a 1 second exposure. The number then goes to 1.3, 1.5, 2, 3, all of those being seconds. 2/3 seconds is usually enough to capture light streaks from passing cars etc.
Sit the camera somewhere still, tripod/wall/table etc this is essential really, any movement during a long exposure will just blur the picture.
Wait for some action and then take the shot, and thats it!
Experiment with it and you'll soon get used to it.
You can go into manual (M) to get longer shutter speeds aswell, but that should get you started for now.
Enjoy the meal
@Deadly
cheers for the info. been wanting to try one of these shots.
