    Default nutrition whilst injured

I mangled my left arm pretty bad last week*, muscle wise, and have been told it may be upto a month before I can use it properly again, so all weights are off limits to me.

Should I still incorporate whey shakes into my diet or cut them out altogether as I only took them post workout. My diet is clean, healthy, and full of protein anyway. Also is there anything nutrition wise anyone can recommend I should/could be taking to aid my recovery?

    cheers.

*edit: saw a specialist today and found out I have a fractured ulnar, gonna be 6 - 8 weeks to heal, luckily minimal tissue damage.

Keep the protein intake high, and your recovery will be improved. Other than that it is just the basic nutrition advice, lots of water and a heathy diet, then just wait it out.

If it is just your arm could you not focus on legs for a month? Keep yourself in the rythm of training and help to keep test levels up (i have read that this will also improve recovery)

But anyway, best of luck sorting the arm out mate

Yup just to follow on from what SM says,if you cant work a certain muscle group then try n work another...Try n work around your injury, making sure you arent agravating it..People seem to think because they hurt their foot they cant train anything and also if they hurt there arm, elbow etc they cant train etc etc....Just ask Guns,he loves training his legs But seriously try n keep some sort of workout going...Like SM says, working other muslce group will help aid your recovery....

cool, thanks for the replies...I've been going for long walks these last few days as I live near to the local forrests, and I'll work out a leg routine for the days when I would have normally worked out and keep my protein intake high.

thanks again for the replies :)
