    Default recovering a dead samsung drive?

    a friend tried to flash his own 360 with samsung ms25 and used the autoflasher, to cut the story short the drive was flashed badly and he does not have the firmware backed up, is there any way to recover this? ive searched but found nothing?

    any help appreciated

    is it completely dead or is it working but u havent got the orig.bin

    the machine has the red light error and is dead just after he flashed it.

    no orig.bin or backup. i read somewhere about hotswapping?

    yeah you can hotswap but you need to have the key from the drive and as you dont have the orig.bin then you dont have the key....dead i'm afraid sorry m8

    flashing manually is so damn easy to do...we should put a big warning somewhere to stop people using autoflashers and killing their boxes!

    or start a campaign banning em or sommat

    Try to dump the firmware from the drive, to see if the key is there... its ur only shot. If u havnt got the key then the drive will be of no use to that xbox.

    I spose there's a small chance it got flashed with the right key but the rest screwed up, you could give it a go. Just get another drive, boot to dos with the working one plugged in and then just swap it with the broken one without turning the pc off. Then manually extract the firmware from the drive...tuts are around for that. Fingers crossed for ya
