78FK's are coming thick and fast

I just picked up 1 core and a prem and the core was a 78FK.
Also just got an email off a mate who has just had 4 78FK's in since Thursday
Hope they sort these sometime soon.

mine were all ms28 or hitachi 59dj all 6

thing is though i sure they are reconditioned as 3 have old marks of old warranty stickers 1 didnt have a sticker at all 1 had broken silver tape that holds dvdrom down very strange away to try em all make sure they work got them from toysrus

mine were all between june and august 2006 no 78 drive

Thought I bricked my drive flashing it tonight. Thank god it came back up in windeows and i could reflash it. I hope my 360 doesnt die and i get one of these (although im sure there will be fw out for it soon)

these were August 17th 2006 but i have has MS28's on August manufacture dates too.
So luck of the draw really

well, you may find GaryOPA and co. can de-solder chips from laser units and do what they do to 'dump' the firmware and work out new bits to patch but the hardest part I would have thought would be to make new tools so that 'joe public' could easily dump and flash their drives!

I think that may be a bigger challenge as new tools will need some time to be developed and tested etc. before they release to the masses! Time will tell, but I would have thought possibly a month if not more, I mean GaryOPA has not even had time to do a 'Stealth Media' patch for current firmware for 'joe public' unless he was waiting to do the whole lot in one go.

Unfortunatly only the firmware's hacked, there's still no tools to update the firmware via software. Hopefully it won't take long though.

Well i just got some more core packs in 2006.09.02 and these are also 78FK's.
Hopefully they will sort software flashing soon and i can get these friggers sorted & also get the drive back i donated

I just bought a premium pack from Toys R Us with the free wireless controller and 3 games, Had a build date of July 06 when i powered it up its a sammy Thank goodness
