Default Any carpet fitters in the house?

im currently looking to get a room carpetted, its 10ft 4" square, give or take a few inch.
What sort of price should i be looking at for a decent carpet, its a bedroom i use as an office, so has a couple of office chairs with wheels on. presume i need some hard wearing stuff to cope with that.

Ive been quoted 130 upto 300 and i have no idea what i should be expecting to pay, 300 seems a bit steep for a small room. The prices are "fully fitted" so im guessing that includes underlay etc.

Anyone give us a bit of advice?

I am no capet fitter but I know you are asking a "how long is a piece of string" question. The cost involved can vary greatly depending on what has been quoted for....

Carpets can vary massively depending on the carpet (for example £3.99 per square yard - £18.99 per square yard)

Underlay can vary too (thats if you are even been quoted for underlay). You can get cheap ass horrible green underlay (avoid). Then there are several different quality underlays.

Then there is that grip strip stuff that goes around the room.

And finally, your room is not massive but its big enough to rule out most "off cuts" (where big savings can be made)

forgot to say. Mr DG did a bedroom recently (8ft x 10Ft). I think the costs were approx this...

Carpet (offcut) £70 (deep shag stuff!)
    Underlay (half decent stuff) £28
    Gripstrip £18

He fitted it himself... SO that is about £120
