sharing the adsl to the xbox's

ive bought a 8 port switch and connected the xbox's to it (2 of em) and then connected it to the pc and everythings fine and shared and xbmc works flawlessly with one problem the weather doesnt work and neither do any scripts because they need internet access but if i plug the adsl modem in it doesnt share it automatically and i cant get online either, how do i share it through the switch so i can access the internet normally and get the xboxs online as well,

the 8 ports are numbered and ive got them plugged in as
1, to the pc
2, xbox downstairs
3, xbox upstairs
4, modem
5,
6,
7,
8,

do i need to plug them in differently or does the modem need to be in a certain numbered port or do i have to do it a different way??

any help would be appreciated

Have you got internet connection sharing turned on on the PC?

yeah but i dont think its set up right, and i dont know how to set it up correctly if its wrong, basically ive still got the modem connected to the pc rather than the switch, and ive gone throught the network connections and properties and advanced and shared it there and then selected the switch as the other pc that can access the internet but still theres nothing

Is the modem just an ADSL modem , or is it a modem and router combined ?

put the modem on port 1 and pc on port 4 should work fine then

ive plugged the modem in to port 1 and the wire to the pc into port 4 and i can get online with the pc but the xbox still dont connect online where have i gone wrong?

ive sorted it i forgot to change the xbox's to DCHP rather than the static ip's that id set them up with origionally,
