    Default GrabIt Help

I've got something completely downloaded now and there are 13 files still in Grabit "waiting to decode". I can't work out why it's not going ahead, the program hasn't crashed or anything and I've restarted it and the machine with no result. Any ideas?

I have had this also m8, not to sure why it occurs though.

can you not just try and run the files you have thru quick par and see if it will let you repair?

I think it may occur cos the file you are trying to D/Load is an old one and all the parts are not still about (dont quote me on that one)

sorry i couldnt be more help

I thought there was an option to download broken files? ....

either way I'd just get newsleecher if I were you, it's easy to set up but the layout is slightly different, which wont take you long to figure out.... it's by far a superior news client!

I used grabit for about six months.... until I got newsleecher, and haven't used another client since.

This happens in Grabit when it can't decode the yenc or other encoded files. It needs a full refresh of the groups on your news server to allow it the decode properly. I'm assuming your files are big text files and double-clicking them opens notepad rather than a zero size text file?

    Try http://forum.shemes.com//viewtopic.php?p=6134 and/or http://forum.shemes.com//viewtopic.p...highlight=yenc

Download and install UUD32Win(seems to cover all the bases) and you should be sorted.

Once you've got a grouplist off the news server, the next d/l should decode without having to run the decoder separately.

BTW If you're importing nzb files rather than individual articles manually try nzb-o-matic plus. Basic but effective. http://www.bunnyhug.net/nomp/
