mairi alice

a guy i used to work with recently moved out to go to uni and lives in a flat below a girl called mairi alice (that's just her first name, dunno her surname). one of my other mates who knows them just told me about her and how her name is a bit odd

its from the west coast of scotland and pronounced 'mah-ray alice'

its bugging me though because mairi alice as all one word and spelt differently from that is something else... but what? i found something called marialis cultus which is something to do with the catholic church but thats as far as i can get by puting random spellings into google

its a philospher or some great thinker, or somebody who came up with some amazing mathematical theorem or physics formula, or some other great scientist. possibly a religious god or prophet of some sort? from quite some time ago at any rate, either some sort of BC year or a AD one in the range of 3 figures.

anybody know who i'm on about? maybe it is just that marialis cultus thing.. has anybody heard of it?

The voice-over on it is a character called Mary Alice Young - could you be thinking of this?

I know from what you've described its seriously unlikely to be this but hey, what the hell, the more idiots like me throw useless info at you the more likely it will hopefully jog your memory!
