Me and the missus went off to Krakow for a long weekend, we took a day out to see Auschwitz. I have to tell you , guys, it's one scary place.
I think this one sums it up.

Have you 'shopped that at all or is it really that grey?
It's a 'nice' shot though.
No "shopping" at all mate, I just set my Nikon L3 in B&W mode and "snapped" it.

Always wanted to go there. Nice picture, if you can call it that lol
Is it true you're not allowed to take photos of the gas chambers/crematorium?
I really want to get a photo of the railway line going into the camp.
Hard to imagine everything that went on there was only 60ish years ago.
don`t mean to sound ghoulish but did you enjoy it? how far is it from krakow?
on a lighter note i hear krakow is really cheap, was it?
Oh f@ck it!

Ah me and some mates were supposed to go to Krakow in the summer, but a bunch of the tight-arses pulled out and we ended up in newquay instead
Does look a very daunting place though, were you allowed around inside and stuff, bet you got some other shots, care to share em?

@ Deadly, thanks for the comments m8, yes it's true that you're not supposed to take phots inside any of the buildings, BUT the guide we had was ok about it.
The Gas chamber and Crematorium from outsite.
The crematorium inside.
@ Nok1, It's about an hour's drive from Krakow, we hired a taxi for the day, it worked out cheaper than a tour bus !! (60 quid for 8 hours)
Food and booze are VERY cheap ( and good quality ) Typically beer can be found for 70p a litre, and a decent meal for 4 with wine was 25 to 30 quid..
@_Belial, yep, you're right, here's a few more.
And finaly, the Cathedral in the Castle grounds.

Very nice pics.. .Looks good
My girlfriend really wants to visit that place to, and I quote, "get that feeling of death," crazy cow I wouldn't want to go anywhere near it!
i went last year, austwich is a very humbling place.
there are rooms with human hair (estimated 40,000 peoples) which leaves you speechless as it only then begins to spell out the volumes.
if you have the time to do poland i would very much recommend it as well. food is fantastic and auswitch and the salt mines are 'have to' places to visit.
love the b&w pictures, great stuff matey
