Urgent Help need re: External Drive

Hi
Ive got a Lacie big Disk 500Gb external hard drive which has about 450Gb of work on it, its been working fine but today when i turned it on it came up with a message "new hardware found" and it need to install a driver for:

TUSB6250

Ive tried to find this driver with lacie but am having no luck, I really need this drive working because the work on here has not been backed up anywhere.

Can anyone please help

try this for a quick fix m8

when it asks for the driver press next if it cant find it, it should show you the name of the file that its looking for, at this point write the file name down and open the search funtion from start button.

type in the name of the file its lookin for and search your whole C: drive
hopefully it will find it, if it does remember the path and go back to the windows were its asking for the file.

Now you should have a browse button or similar.just hit that and navigate to the location of the file found by search funtion

Come to think of it...it shouldnt need drivers, if its usb2. i would also suggest shutting down PC Disconnect drive reboot then try reconnecting drive

the driver it is asking for is a win98 driver, xp doesnt need a driver for mass storage. I unpowered the drive, plugged it in and it started working again, i was told my usb controller was screwed up but this was the same on 2 totally different machines. Is this drive gonna die on me? Its only a couple of months old, I heard lacie external drives were very reliable
