    Default Which flash cart

    Hi

I aint touched a flash card since my old GBA any my parallel programmer ages ago, but am thinking of getting a flash cart for my sister.

    Which do peeps recommend?

I was thinking of the Ninjapass x9 for ease of use.... either that or the DS-X, altho the Ninjapass works out cheaper and can have more mem.

Are there any benefits to the GBA type carts other than the ability to play GBA games?

Many compatibility issues with the Ninjapass and roms anyone encountered?

I have read though the posts on here about it but still am undecided which would be best for my cash!

    Much appreciated

Going off what I have read I would pick the NinjaPass X9 over the DS-X any day of the week purely to the fact the NinjaPass uses micro SD/Transflash cards, although most DS games are relatively small there are some big ones out there (!)

Checkout the Ninjapass forums and have a look if/what issues people are having.

There are a fair few Slot-1 devices out now and even more to come, rumours are rife that Supercard will enter into the Slot-1 flash card market very, very soon

Slot-1 flash cards are definitely the way to go but if you can pick up a cheap second hand slot-2 flash card and memory card then it might be worth looking into that. However if you do use a slot-2 card you will need to either flash you're DS/Lite or use a passcard. Most of the slot-1 devices have a built-in passcard so no flashing, etc is needed. If you want to play GBA games then you will need to get a slot-2 card.

I'm just using an old SuperCard SD, been using it for nearly a year and I'm relatively happy with it. The vast majority of games work but there are a small handful which do not until a new software/firmware update comes out.

I really do want to get a slot-1 flash card though but I'm in no hurry. As tempting as the NinjaPass X9 is I'm just going to hold off and wait and see what goods SuperCard and other manufacturers bring to the table

yup i have heard that theres a supercard, ezflash and ewin slot 1 solution on the way. Its getting better all the time. the passme/slot2 card is fast becoming out of date.

ninjapass def seems to be the card of the moment tho.

i'm well impressed with my ninjapass. it's only version 1 of the firmware and there's very little that needs changing. also their forum style support is superb. good hardware coupled with a cheap price ... it's definitely brought the ds flash cart to a new level. it'll be a very hard act for supercard to follow.
