game creation software?

guys

I am looking for the best software to make arcade games without having to learn a complex programming language, ideally this software would have direct x support/support to make online multiplayer games.

I heard flash or director are quite easy to pick up and learn, can anyone advise me further on this please or any other good easy to use game development products?

I am wanting to make simple arcade games like pacman.

any advise would be greatley appreciated.

Yep. Its ages old but very very simple. Found a bit more info for you. Its actually spelt "Klik & Play"

After having a think it might not even run on todays machines with Windows XP etc. Might be something new about though.

I tried to get into Dark Basic after the creation guys did a presentation at our uni, but couldn't get my head around it (read between the lines for "couldn't be arsed"). Have a look at that mate, there was quite a community about 3 years ago and that was designed with DX in mind.

ok fearless m8, i got the fps creator prgm now and its p1ss easy, bit like rollercoaster tycoon drop an drag then click test to have a quick go,,,,,loads of parts to play with like doors, walls, stairs, windows etc up to lifts and teleporters....

well worth a go this..

oh dont drop to many baddies in cos they will hammer you.

i would like to thank you big-style for bringing this type of program to my attention, many an hour will be passed these winter nights..

Try XNA Game Studio Express from Microsoft, the final version was just released a couple of weeks ago. You'll need to do some proper programming (as you will with anything if you want anything decent), but it is very easy and quick to use. You also get the full IDE - Visual C# Express - with it.

Best thing, it is all totally free.

Also, if you pay $99 for a year you can download all your creations to the XBOX360.

I have just started playing with it, but please ask if you need to know anything.
