    Default File recovery

I had to format my drives last week cos of a hardware fault (and a little hastiness!)
I lost a couple of things that i would like to recover.
Question is folks,.Is there any software that will try to recover some of these files even after a reformat and resizing etc. partitions using Partition Magic?
    I know it's a long shot but?
I haven't installed nothing since this particular disaster so I am holding out for a bit till weekend, if not sorted by then..blow It , i will put my software back on and learn from the experience.
Anyone know of anything which will have a go at this, preferably a free package?

    Thanks

    Steve

I checked this one Stevie, didn't like the look of it, not sure it will do what I need. There was no mention there of recovery after partition resizing etc.
    Thanks

recovery after re-partition is a tricky one. Check out DDrescue - you'll need another drive though. I suspect that you'll need a commercial service - only worth it (£££) if your data is valuable.

anything that does the job well is going to charge - one of the best ones out there is tiramisu. Everythings cheap if you know where to look though

I paid the money to use "recover my files". I got all my photos back so it was worth it.
    Thanks for the advice folks
