60hz only games on a non 60hz TV.

Sorry if posted already.

A mate of mine still has an old TV......... He's just got a 360, got Gears of War and Pro Evo but reckons he can't play them as they have to be 60hz and his TV doesn't like it?

Any one else had this issue? I think he must be doing something wrong?

nope the games do need the tv set to be at 60Hz

Is there a way to tell if my TV does handle 60hz? When I switch my TV to PAL60 (via my 360) it still shows the picture (admit a tad fuzzy) but I've just been assuming it works as I can see something.

Oh well, expensive weekend for him lol... He's going out to get a new TV tomorrow.

Even my 10 year old TV supports 60HZ so how old is your mates!?!?!??! Should be able to pick up a second hand set for around �50 if he looks around in the local papers or admag.
