My 15 mins of fame?

I got called up recently by a weekly magazine here in Wales called Golwg. They'd seen some of my pics on flickr and wanted to have a chat with me about them. They were doing a piece of people taking images of Wales and showing them around the world.

Anyway, went to the newsagent this week and picked up a copy and pleased as punch to see there's 2 huge prints of my pics in there along with extracts from the interview

I think there's something wrong with the printing machine, all the words seem to be jumbled up.

I can't read Welsh but I assume it's about the condition of the average house in Wales?

Care to translate or would it take too long?

here's a rough translation

The Sinister Asylum,

It's a much darker world that Carl Jones (<-- me) from Rhydyclafdy conveys on his flickr.

He ventured one day with his Father to another hospital, the old Denbigh Mental Hospital to take pictures of the building
which is coming to the end of it's age since it closed in the 1980's.

"They get a good response from people who like images which are a bit 'spooky'" said Carl, who's known as 'Belial' on flickr.

"When you go inside, some of the rooms are very daunting, with nothing but a small window to let in some light. It was a little
bit scary when we first went in. It's such a shame that there's such a mess in the place"

His father had been there when he was about 10 years old, playing with the Bethel brass band, and he remembers the patients
walking about like zombies there.

"Some things in there still stand out" said Carl. "We wanted to find the padded cells, as that's the kind of picture i had of 'Denbigh Mental', as we used to call it"

He also takes lots of impressive night photos, from shining stars and moon over the Llyn Peninsula to the Graveyards of the North.

"It's just a hoby really, photography" said Carl, "I get comments from people all over the place, Europe, America and even Wales"

Thanks guys. I was really surprised when they got in touch, guess there's jsut not enough photographers in Wales, everyone's too busy farming and enjoying the wildlife I guess
