    Default 360 Wireless Adapter alternative

Can I connect my 360 to Live using this or is there an alternative to the official 360 Wireless Adapter. I dont fancy spending £56-£60 on one.

Nah, no USB adaptors other than the official MS one will work with your 360. You'll have to get an ethernet bridge or somesort, I have a WRT54G set to bridge mode. Cost me £30.

Thats no good then cos if I need to plug it into my router, I might as well run an ethernet cable into the 360

I think i'll just get the Microsoft Wireless adapter.

    get one of these: http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/113699

with this you can turn any device that has a Ethernet port into a wireless device

so it will work for xbox1, ps2 and xbox 360.

with the official device it will only work on the 360 and thats it.

im not too sure on their returns policy mate

that device will also turn any laptop/PC into wireless aswell

i have a similar netgear one working on my xbox1,. works a treat

the other alternative (if its doable) is to run a cable from 360 to router, this of course is the cheapest option and the best, as no hassle with drop connections etc etc

Ebuyers returns are generally quite good, although you will have paythe return postage for your item, but even if you opena nd use it you can still send it back and get a refund. I did it with a DVD player a few months ago.

Ebuyer have told me that I won't be receiving my item today 'cos of some issue they had in their warehouse. They say that they'll refund me the extra I paid for next day delivery, so I should get it tomorrow.

The reason I can't use the MS wireless adapter is that my 360 is about 60-75 meters away from the router, at the back of my garden. If I use the MS adapter I have to put the 360 onto the window sill, otherwise it cant pick up the wireless signal. This is a recipe for disaster. I am buying the GamePoint! Wireless-G Gaming Network Adapter 'cos I can put that on the window sill and run an ethernet cable to the 360.

Right, I have this setup now and it works great. The 360 sees the connection as an ethernet cable. The added bonus is that I can plug the ethernet cable into my laptop if I want to and get internet access.

I recommend it to anyone looking for an alternative to MS wireless adapter, its also cheaper.

Wired is much better 'cos there is a better signal and also there is less chance of dropped signals. It just wasn't practical for me to have a wired connection due to the distance my 360 is away from my router (about 60-70 metres)

I tend to use homeplugs which effectively gives me a wired connection through my mains. never had a problem with them, even streaming from my media centre pc is fine. Far better than wireless.
