    Wanted Network Hard Drive

    Hey lads,

    Want a external hard drive to fit onto my network via the router, just wondering if anyone has one, or would be willing to make me one, I keep hearing but NAS but really dunno lol

    Amazing timing... just seen one going cheap at maplins (just add your own IDE drive of choice)

    Would be good but for this -

    Supports 3.5inch IDE / FAT32 HDD
    Anyone still use FAT32?

    I think the manufacturers have made it fat32 so that the shares can be accessed from any operating system by default.

    Also it looks like the o/s doing the sharing on it is linux anyway so there are limitations to what disk formats it can use.

    I would think it might be the same with most devices of this sort.
