The TV watchdog has received 200 complaints from viewers that Bollywood star Shilpa is the victim of racist bullying.

Ofcom has reported the new troubles following the show's plummeting ratings and the walkout of three celebrities.

The Indian beauty was branded a "dog" by disgraced former Miss Great Britain Danielle who blamed Shilpa for Carole's eviction on Friday night.

Both Danielle and Jo have imitated Shilpa's Indian accent, while Jade's evicted mum Jackiey dubbed her "The Indian" and refused to learn how to pronounce her name.

Some fans have been upset by what they believe is racist behaviour and have been voicing their concerns on internet forums.

Housemate Jermaine thinks that Jade's gang - including JO and Danielle - are jealous of her and Ian told him he thought the house was turning into Lord of the Flies.

A Big Brother insider said if producers thought there was abuse, bullying or racism going on, they would take a very serious view. But anti-racism campaigners are demanding BB bosses take action if it is proved Shilpa has been the victim of racially-motivated abuse.

To be fair i dont think the people carrying out the remarks have enough intelligence to understand what they are saying. Danielle, Jo and her mother??

I think its bollox anyway. for these reasons.

1. Anyone can be called a "Dog" (thats not rascist)

2. When anyone immitates a person they automatically immitate the accent (not the friggin colour of their skin). If you immitate a geordie you speak like a geordie (thats not rascist)

3. Jackie called her "The indian" when she was out of the house, and that was a remark based on her lack of intelligence.

The Sun said that Jade called Shilpa a pa*i, which is racist. The stuff I saw on the news about it is crap...

It said that Jackie repeatedly got her name wrong and finally called her the "indian". Well she is an Indian, so I can't see how that is racist. Especially as, like Dappa said, she isn't the sharpest tool in the box.

Jackie can't even get Jades name right, someone said her realy name is Jenny or summot. FFS people saw how crap her vocabulary was when she was interviewed.

I wouldn't be surprised if the BB bosses are pleased at the extra attention.

It's seems you can call Shilpa a stupid, self centred, shallow bint, but call her an Indian and thats going too far.

Jade family come from the Bermondsey/Tower Hamlets area of London where I am sure there are plenty of ethnic cultures. I doubt either of them would be intentionally racist on a National Front level. The estates of London have had all cultures living in them for so long, its more than considdered normal.

However the show and the "bullying" is an easy target for the PC brigade...

If Shilpa is really that bothered, she can always walk. No one is forcing her to stay. I certainly wouldn't give one...

It's stupid, they completely blow it out of proportion. It's not racist at all. If anything, she was just as racist for laughing at the way Jo said "whale", but no-one shouts out racism then do they. IMO there's 2 different types of racism.

1. There's that which is usual banter which happens to be about someones race.
2. There's where you treat someone different because of their race, religion or appearance.

I personally think there's nothing especially wrong with no1. There's not front page stories because Jade called someone fat, or stupid, but there is when she comments on her voice she's suddenly a racist. If she wasn't Indian they'd still insult her, but just with a different insult. It's part of life, fat people put up with it. They weren't insulting her because she's Indian, they were just simply insulting her. If they take the piss out of an American accent, it's ok. She takes the piss out of Jo's accent, it's ok. But someone dares to take the piss out of her accent and there's mayhem. No2 is what I see as real racism and just plain ignorant.

The irony in all this? I bet not one of those 2 million people that complained are even from different ethnic backgrounds. You'll find most of the people that are actually dark skinned aren't really that bothered about the usual banter.

Bullying has always gone on in the big brother house, but there was never this much media hype over it. Look at that gay one from last year, they actually properly bullied him but it wasn't on the radio every 10 seconds about them being homophobic bullies and 50 thousand people complaining.

Not wanting to argue, but I thought that Jade and her famliy were the ones being accused of racism. I'm not dis-agreeing with the fact the "scouse slut" is a scouse slut, but did I miss her being racist?

I think BB is supposed to push the limits of all things anyway, thats why it keeps getting comissioned. There have been loads of other "scandals" in the past.

In fact there have been other Indians on the show, and the racism card has never been played by the press by them or any other ethnic minority.

For those of us who aren't, we can post all the bollocks we want claiming it isn't racist or providing rationale for why Danielle seems to have a grudge against Shilpa or why Jade Goody called her a 'Paki'. But who gives a fuck what we think, we aren't affected by it and we never will be.

White people, who have never had a single day of being subjected to discrimination, claiming 'Everything's too PC' when something like this happens makes me wonder what their motives are and why they voice their opinions so strongly.

As for some of the comments above from our new admin regarding 'the usual banter', are you fucking joking? You haven't got a clue if they mind or not. You assume they don't mind because they take it and probably give back as good as they get, but what they tell you and what they really think could be very different.
