    Default Valentines Day

    Hi all,

OK, it's nearly that time of year to line Mr Clinton's pockets. (not Bill)

I have no problem with treating the wife to a fancy card and bunch of flowers but I have one little query.

Do I buy a card from our daughter to her? The reason I ask is because I saw a whole section with To Mummy on valentines day.

Is this the done thing? This will be the first valentines day with our daughter so is it a done thing?

Many thanks for your responses in advance, yes even the humourous ones, CJ, Bert, etc.....

my GF buys her mum one every year. Don't see the point really, unless she's got lesbian, inbred fantasies

These card shops don't know what to think of next. It's all a big marketing ploy to make you spend more in their shop, which is obviously only natural for a business.

Every year there's more ideas for them to enocurage card giving. I think there's even a National Secretary Day, where you treat your secretary to card, flowers, present etc.

We'll go out for a meal no doubt but she's not having a fry up. Last year she had that and went into labour 4 hours later. (she's due our second in May so we don't want a premature labour)

Lol, no way jose. I planted the "Valentines is a big con" seeds at a very early stage in our relationship.
I have convinced Mrs. Roach that it's much more romantic to cook a nice meal at home, let her watch me drink a bottle of red or two and then fall asleep on the sofa. This may sound like every night for us but the difference is that I do put a candle in an empty red wine bottle in the middle of the table and wear my "love" apron whilst cooking.....
