Hitachi 59 drive, mode b

I recently had a hitachi 59 drive in to flash, but I was unable to get it in to mode b using the connectivity kit, after lots of attempts with the connectivity kit I tried using Slax 2 which worked ok. I've done the hitachi 59 drives before with no problems using the connectivity kit, so why this one was a problem I don't know.
So I was wondering if anyone else has had anything like this happen using the connectivity kit.

Not had any experience of the connectivity kit, so sorry for not really helping with your question, but Slax 2 is great for me. Used to have to use the "2 wire trick" for mode b, as slax "1" would not boot on my pc, but slax 2 works everytime.

I had a Hitachi 78k that would not go into B mode and the was christmas eve
and the owners needed it that day for a present
In the end I had to defult the computer bios and use another sata port on the pci card to get it to show up using the slax 2 dvd

did a 59dj on sunday with the connectivity kit and had no problems.

you got the V1 or V2 kit? not that it should any diffence from what i can tell.

i'll be doing a couple of 59dj's tonight, hopefully with the connectivity kit. So i'll let you know how they go.

I've got the V1 connectivity kit,
I've done the 59 drives before but this one was didn't want to play ball using the connectivity kit
