lmao Is there only me disappointed in vista already?

With the news i hear on the register.co.uk about their being bugs and viruses and spyware all over the vista install and the news of a service pack in the pipeline. I feel that vista is a big let down already, that and don't you think that you need a top spec PC to run it properly? they should have just fixed XP. that would be better don't you think?

Im not saying there is anything wrong with xp. what im saying is why bost that it will be the best windows ever and not need updating when clearly it isn't. why not just make revisions to the XP we already have and introduce a new service pack?

It will be the best Windows ever, just give it a cahnce. If you did the Beta you will know that the amount of change that can be introiduced release on release then you know it will get there. Were you entirely happy with XP when it was released? As far as I can say it took a couple of service packs to get that to a reasonable standard.

I agree with Rap, I won't touch it for at least 6 months or maybe even SP2

You need to give it 6 months for 'special fixes' before you 'buy' it.

The main thing that disappoints me is the various different packages that they are offering. I and probably most of you guys will have to get the ultimate version as it's the only one that does everything. And the retail price is ridiculous. Just hope we can get it 'cheaper'.

not bothered at the moment as xp does everything i need and does not have compatability probs. I will wait probably 12 months before i change unless something comes out that needs it.

er.. at what point have ms said the vista will not need updating??

vistas a big jump... the new network stack features and backup facilities alone would be enough to make me upgrade.. which i will when i can be assed.

downladed a legit copy from my uni.. its only the business version though, but i think the only thing im missing would be media center which is a pile of wank anyway.

its pretty self explanitory.. if you wanna upgrade from xp, buy the (somewhat cheaper) upgrade. but if you wanna start from a fresh install.. buy the full thing.
