Had some friends around last night with their children and grandaughter. Took the opportunity to try out the new black backdrop . This is grandaughter on grandad's arm.

Superbly taken shot that mate, great contrast and lighting, the black backdrop clearly doing a great job (where are you getting your backdrops btw, after a few myself).

If i'm honest, i don't find the actual subject very endearing, the one hand holding the baby thing i don't find very affectionate as one would expect of a grandfather holding his grandchild, but if they liked it, then fair enough, but wouldn't be a shot I'd want of my kids (and he could have cleaned his fingernails couldn't he )

Yeah..lol. I suppose a bit more preparation would have been better.

I've got both backdrops now off ebay. The white one is a muslin backdrop and the black one is a 'wrinkle' free one. Which is bollox coz it still has loads of wrinkles in it...

See what you mean, I think it is a lot to do with the 2nd pic baby is asleep and the hand is around the head, (more contact=safer,comfortable and warm)

Yep, see what you mean. I suppose I could have taken varying shots, giving varying results. It was a test shot but I do like the one wtayler posted.

Love the shot but I think it would have been better if you lost the nappy.
