Xbox xecuter 2.6 pin header install problem

I had three x2.6 installs today. The first install went fine, no problems. The second install fragged. And the third install went fine, no problems.

The second install is on a 1.2 board using a pin header install and the underside D0 point... when I switch the xbox on it frags (powers up 3 times and then hangs on red/green flashing light), disable chip and it's fine-as it should be.

I hot flashed all 3 chips in my own machine, a 1.6 with a 2.6 installed, using the appropriate 5035 bios. I have tried a few bioses on the chip in the other machines and it works, but as soon as any chip is out in the 1.2 machine it frags.

I've checked all the points to the chip itself. I removed the pin header completely. I cleaned up the board, went over it with a magnifying glass even though I know I haven't splashed any solder anywhere, and then used a new pin header and it still frags. I have also used both top and bottom D0 points... It's driving me mad ..lol..

The only difference between the 3 machines is that the other two were 1.6's and I used the rebuild kits for those. You'd have thought that if I was gonna screw up one of these installs it'd be one with a rebuild kit and not a simple pin header install ;)

    any suggestions?

    cheers

*edit* thanks to a tip from ZX7R I found a broken trace around the D0 and fixed it :)

Default Re: xecuter 2.6 pin header install problem

was going to suggest trying a diff chip on the header to eliminate soldering, but there you go, seems you cracked it.
