mines has actually been better since the change
on my 10mb i done line speed tests and only got 7.9mb
but since the change and erm vista install they shot back up to 10.2mb
Usenet is the same as ever, but many websites do seem to be taking a while to respond. Think that's coincidence though.
must be my pc...is fine now
Shooooooo-ryuken!
mine did slow down for a week or so but now back up to full speed
We are only on 2Mbit but usenet speeds have gone from 300K down to 90k over the past week. General internet is almost at 56k modem speeds, takes forever.
Reset the whole network, put new firmware on network, have 5 computers in the house and tested speeds individually but it looks like our speed has been capped.
Maybe this is a passing problem but been like this for a week now.
My newsgroup download speeds have been consistently shite for the past few days now, I'm on 10mbit & lucky to get 3 mbit speeds
damn i only get 1.6MB/s on NG's
I have been having shit speeds on and off for the last couple of weeks. Put it down to VM change over but still happening.
Rallying .... Because Football, Cricket and Golf only requires one ball.
Download my latest breaks and electro mixes or listen to Sellout Breaks FM
Noticed that the speeds have been slow using newshosting on the weekdays, but today the speeds are normal, are they throttling during peak time i.e weekday pm?
and it begins...
i love being right.
Full 1.2MB/s on 10meg connection can hardly complain after 5 years and hardly any downtime.....
And for Since the transfer to Virgin Media what is that all about...........did it start bang on the 08/02/07??
it makes me lol reading the same thing everywhere!! Since virgin media!!

I've read on cable-forum that VM are trialling traffic shaping in some areas but this is only on the 10mbit service and at peak times only. When the shaping is active the connection is limited to 5mbit.
they must br trialling it in my area (wirral)
as every night my speed is cut to half (I'm on the 10meg line but not a heavy user)
pissing me right off

I came back from holiday and didn't even know Virgin had brought Telewest. I have to say I've noticed shit's been a lot slower. I just hope the fuckers don't start capping or something.
I'm in Liverpool and my speeds have been shocking for months. I know my speeds are constantly pants during "peak" hours.
Don't think they are traffic shaping in my area I just think it's oversubscribed and the speeds drop when all the students get up hehe.
